Self Esteem and Stress

Self-esteem is arrived at through the acceptance of oneself either absolutely or in comparison to others.

In this video I’m going to talk about the impact what others think of you and most importantly, what you think of yourself…can affect your level of stress.

Hello, I’m The Stress Master,

The spectrum for self esteem can at one end consist of narcism and at the other be a feeling of inferiority. While having an inappropriate level of esteem is generally thought to be one of low esteem, many people have an exaggerated sense of self and exhibit an inappropriate level of high esteem. In many of these particular situations, the individual is merely masking or hiding a lack of confidence and low self-esteem.

As with self-image, strategies are employed to affect others perception of an individual. Individuals with superior esteem and a sense of insecurity seek continued approval and may be manipulative in their pursuit.  Those who have low esteem and are not insecure, are usually reserved but dependent. People who suffer from low esteem as well as a feeling of insecurity have a tendency toward having their inferiority confirmed through their own actions.

Additionally, other techniques are used to persuade or coerce opinion of a person’s behaviour. Many people conceal certain aspects of their personality in the fear that revealing particular patterns will result in a negative opinion by others.

However, people reveal themself to people with whom they have a high trust, such as parents, close friends, clergy, and people who they regard as being similar to themself.

What  do you do to influence peoples view of yourself?
