Achieve More With Less Stress

Motivation is what causes us to take action, whether to grab a snack to reduce hunger or participate in a seminar to widen our knowledge base. In this video I’ll list the drivers that motivate us and how a lack of these drivers affects our levels of stress.

Hello, I’m The Stress Master,

Achievement Motivation refers to a person’s efforts in pursuit of high quality, mastery of a task, performance excellence, pride in effort and persistence in the face of failure.

It is the force that instigates, guides and maintains goal-oriented behaviours.

An individual’s motivation is influenced by biological, intellectual, social and emotional factors. As such, motivation is a complex driving force and can also be influenced by external factors.

A large part of this behaviour pattern is focused on the psychological values related to the thoughts, feelings and behaviour of an individual.

An important aspect of determining how to measure motivation is understanding what type of motivation one is attempting to uncover.

There are three pathways to motivation

Goals

Learning…

and

Relationships

Measuring motivation is often a challenging prospect as it is a qualitative, rather than quantitative value. It cannot be easily measured with percentages, numbers or statistics. Unless your business is the type that uses targets and sales incentives, it is difficult to determine just how motivated employees and customers are, without the use of surveys or questionnaires.

Every employee has activities, events, people, and goals in his or her life that he or she finds motivating. So, motivation about some aspect of life exists in each person’s consciousness and behaviour and has a huge impact on our level of stress and the ability to control our stress.

What factors influence your motivation?
